The fan clutch is a component of the engine cooling system in avehicle. Its primary function is to control the operation of the engine coolingfan to help regulate the temperature of the engine.
It works byengaging and disengaging the engine cooling fan based on the temperature of theengine. When the engine is running hot, the fan clutch will engage the coolingfan to help draw more air through the radiator, which assists in cooling theengine. When the engine is running at a lower temperature, the fan clutch willdisengage the fan, allowing it to freewheel and reduce the load on the engine.
